Helen Thomas, Chris Reid: Obama controls the Press like no one before him

Helen Thomas, who has been White House Correspondent for every Administration since Kennedy, said that even Nixon did not try to control the Press the way that Obama does. Back then they didn't try because they knew they couldn't do it. Much of the Press nowadays has no shame at all about this new relationship. What if George W Bush had tried to exert this kind of control of every speech, every town hall meeting, every everything? It amazes me how they claimed everything President Bush did was wrong, and went against our way of life and our Constitution, yet, Obama comes along and only INCREASES and ADDS TO any such misdeeds that Bush did do -- and they HELP him! No more complaining, let's roll up our sleeves and help him control us, and ransack the country. Honestly, I'm surprised to see Thomas and Reid, quite liberal both, speaking out so strongly against this, but I sure am glad they are starting to wake up and speak out.

ACORN changes their name, threatens anyone who speaks against them

Have you been noticing the pattern repeating itself over and over, under the leadership of our new President? Yep, the one where anyone that disagrees with you should immediately be shut up by any means possible.
No longer does this Nation embrace free speech, and everyone's God given right to speak their mind. Now, the rule of thumb seems to be if someone disagrees with your view, you do all that you can to paint them as extremists, crazies, loonies, and "blind followers" of such, you make laws to shut them up, and/or you threaten them with enough legal action that it will shut them up simply because they won't have the money to fight you. Oh, and you pass legislations as quickly and quietly as you can, covering up as much of the disliked parts as possible, and any time you are able, pass that legislation in the middle of the night.
We've watched President Obama use all of these tactics, since before he was elected. And as a result, so many federal and state legislators, governors, and left wing organizations such as ACORN feel even freer than ever to participate in this kind of sneaky, lying, underhanded behavior.

This arrived in my email today. Please be sure to visit the Americans for Prosperity website, both national and state chapters. Do whatever you can to help fight back against this overgrowth of government and its rejection of everything American, as well as its lack of concern for the neediest and poorest, which were promised such help but are ending up getting HURT.

Red State Rockers have a message in their music

There's a new conservative band, called Red State Rockers. Give a listen.

Thursday, June 4, 2009

The Take Back Our State tea party in Raleigh yesterday drew thousands. Protesters came on buses from the surrounding cities and counties. Here is more information about some of the proposed taxes:
As you read this The North Carolina General Assembly is considering over $1 billion in new taxes. If that makes you mad I need you to take action.

The spending and tax plans presented by Gov. Perdue and Senate Democrats would repeat the pattern with up to $1 per pack more for cigarettes, a 280 percent increase in taxes on other kinds of tobacco, higher taxes on beer and alcohol, higher and more complicated income taxes, higher taxes for businesses, and a new six-percent sales tax on everything I do online, plus home repairs, car repairs, extended warranties, or even a haircut.

Tea Party Protest in Raleigh TODAY (June 3, 2009)

Gather at Halifax Mall in Raleigh on Wednesday, June 3, from 4:30pm to 7pm, to protest the proposed tax increases in NC. Governor Perdue hopes to raise taxes and establish new taxes amounting to close to a billion dollars. At the same time, they want to drastically cut many needed services for disabled children and adults, which will create undeniable hardships on families who are already dealing with so much, and in some cases, could result in death due to lack of proper supervision, needed medical care, etc. Raising taxes by a billion AND cutting desperately needed services?
I thought the liberals were supposed to be the "compassionate" ones who help everyone. Yeah, right.
Helping people who NEED help is a good thing. Creating a vast funnel that sucks every last penny from the economy (uh, that's you and me, in case you're not sure), and into some governmental black hole helps NO ONE!

Take a survey for Senator McCain | Support Toomey's against Specter

Country First PAC survey
Here's a short survey that Senator McCain wants your participation for. You do have to fill out your name and address, and then the
survey is short, but covers important issues. The Country First PAC will release a full report when all the information is analyzed. Over 40,000 have already responded. Please be sure to make your voice heard, too.

Senator John McCain

Pat Toomey on YouTube.

Support Pat Toomey's bid for the PA Senate
Another matter that urgently needs your attention is the upcoming Senate race in PA. Yeah, I know you may not live in PA, but this race is crucial and we must do all we can to support Pat Toomey against the traitor (yes I did say traitor), Arlen Specter. If you're able, please send a donation, and if you're not able, then spread the word at least. We cannot allow Sen. Specter to continue in his position! A loss for Pat Toomey will make it almost a done deal for the Liberals to:
  • nationalize more private industries;
  • enact tax hikes of any kind;
  • impose government run and government rationed health care;
  • kill the First Amendment with the "Fairness Doctrine";
  • kill the Second Amendment through new gun restrictions; and
  • nominate activist leftist jurists to the federal courts.
Those are all things Pat Toomey has promised to fight against if elected. Let's do all we can to see that Pat Toomey wins and sends a loud, clear message to the Liberals and especially to turncoat Senator Arlen Specter.
Arlen Specter so feared a run against Mr. Toomey that he spent $100,000 to attack Mr. Toomey in a statewide ad, 13 days before Mr. Toomey announced he was running! Right after, Sen. Specter switched parties.

President Obama again shows his colors

President Obama made a joke at the Arizona State University that once again shows his colors: in remarking about the University's decision not to grant him an honorary degree because of his lack of experience, he joked that the university's leaders would soon learn about IRS audits.
Such a comment shows both his lack of understanding of his position, and his lack of consideration for the very real stress an IRS threat can cause people. Not to mention the still sore issue of his appointing admitted tax cheats to high positions.
Yet, Obama shows a great understanding of the way things work in politics and in the nation in other ways, when he is using that knowledge to manipulate the very foundations of our nation. So I question whether this is a naive faux pas by an inexperienced President, or just another chance for us to see his true colors: his inherent disdain for the American people and the American Way of Life.

clipped from online.wsj.com

Mr. Obama has been accused of not appreciating the importance of financial capital to the proper functioning of the economy. But ill-chosen remarks like his ASU audit threat suggest that he also doesn't appreciate the role of moral capital. That, too, is essential to the proper functioning of a modern economy. As he looks for ways to pay for the spending campaign he's already embarked upon, he'd be well-advised to avoid comments that undercut the very tax system he'll be depending on.

American Tea Party 2009

Americans are angry! Our country is not looking like our country anymore. Too many politicians seem to be more concerned with their ideology and agenda than with what we, the people want and need.

As a result, there are protest "tea parties" scheduled all over the country tomorrow, April 15, 2009. There have already been some tea parties around the country, and there are still more scheduled through the year, and especially on July 4, 2009, but tax day, April 15, is the unofficial real "kick off".

I cannot attend a local protest, nor can I travel to DC for that tea party. But I do believe in the tea party protests, and whatever else we can do to force our politicians to be honest with us, transparent with us, and to listen to us. I can't attend for financial reasons and personal responsibilities for my child. So I thought I am probably not the only one who feels strongly about what is happening to our country, but cannot attend even a local tea party. And that is how this blog came to be. An online tea party for those of us who cannot attend a tea party in person, and still would like to participate!
So please join me for the online tea party 2009, starting April 15, 2009 and continuing, well, as long as needed...
This blog is open for your posts, comments, questions, speeches, pictures and video from
tea parties around the country. You can also sign a petition to let the government know where you stand on the out of control spending, taxing, and infringement of our rights. No foul language. Nothing offensive.
Party like it's 1773!
